Vera Plants a Magic Seed

Vera was a little girl with a great love for plants. One day she found a strange, sparkling seed in the garden.

"What could this be?" Vera wondered and decided to plant it.

She dug a small hole, placed the seed in it, and covered it with soil. Then she watered it and waited.

The next morning Vera was amazed. A small, blue sprout was already growing where the seed had been.

"Wow, how quickly it grows!" she exclaimed.

Day by day, the plant grew taller. Its stem was silver, and its leaves were like little stars.

After a week, the plant was already Vera's height. It wasn't a flower but a small tree, with sparkling fruit growing on its branches.

One morning, Vera heard the tree whisper: "Thank you for planting me."

Vera startled. "Did you speak?" she asked cautiously.

The tree swayed its branches. "Yes, I am a magic tree. Your care brought me to life."

Vera was excited. "Wow! I've never had a talking tree as a friend. What's your name?"

The tree thought for a moment. "You can call me Hope, because I can grant wishes."

Vera was amazed. "Can you really grant wishes?"

Hope nodded with its branches. "Yes, but remember that every wish has consequences. Think carefully about what you ask for."

Vera thought for a moment and then said: "I wish I had my own little greenhouse."

Suddenly, a sparkling fruit fell from Hope's branch. When it touched the ground, it transformed into a small, beautiful greenhouse.

Vera was astonished. She stepped into the greenhouse and saw it was full of rare and beautiful plants.

Days passed, and Vera learned to be careful with her wishes. She asked for small, useful things: rain during dry periods, warmth on cold nights, and sometimes special seeds for rare plants.

One day, Vera's neighbor's dog became seriously ill. Vera knew that ordinary medication wouldn't help, so she went to Hope.

"Hope," Vera said seriously, "can I ask for the neighbor's dog to get better?"

Hope sighed deeply. "You can ask for that, Vera, but remember that wishing for life and health is very powerful magic. It may require a great sacrifice."

Vera thought for a long time. Finally, she said: "I understand. I still wish for the dog to recover."

A large, golden fruit fell from Hope's branches. When it touched the ground, it turned into golden dust and floated on the wind to the neighbor's yard.

The next day, the neighbor's dog was healthy, but Vera noticed that one of Hope's branches had turned gray and withered.

Vera now truly understood the power and responsibility of wishes. She decided to use Hope's gift only when it was truly important.

Over the years, Vera and Hope grew together. Vera became known in her village as a wise and kind woman with a wonderful garden. And although many wondered about the secret of her garden, Vera kept her promise and never revealed Hope's true nature.
