1. Introduction

Interlinear Oy ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Statement. This Privacy Statement describes the types of information we may collect from users of the Yomi Reading App, how we use, store, protect, and disclose that information.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Device information

  • Device ID (used as the primary identifier)
  • Device type and model
  • Operating system version
  • App version and usage statistics

2.2 Profile information

  • Username (not linked to real identity)
  • Avatar selection
  • Reading preferences

2.3 Usage data

  • Reading session duration
  • Pages or stories read
  • Energy levels and character evolution stages
  • Audio recordings of reading sessions (where applicable)

2.4 What we do not collect

  • Personal identification information (names, addresses, emails)
  • Location data
  • Contact information
  • Payment information (handled entirely by Apple — see Section 3)
  • Information from third-party accounts

3. Subscriptions and payments

Yomi offers an optional subscription with a free trial. All payments, billing details, and renewal information are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or other payment details.

3.1 What we receive from Apple

  • An anonymized subscription status (active, trialing, expired) tied to the device ID
  • The product identifier of the subscription tier purchased
  • Receipt validation data used solely to verify the purchase

3.2 What we do not receive

  • Your Apple ID or any identifier that links to your real identity
  • Your credit card or bank details
  • Your billing address or phone number

3.3 Managing your subscription

Subscriptions can be viewed, changed, or cancelled at any time from your device's App Store settings. Cancelling stops auto-renewal but does not trigger a refund for the current period; refunds are handled by Apple under their App Store policies.

4. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and improve the Yomi Reading App
  • Enable the core functionality of reading tracking
  • Power the Yomi character evolution system
  • Calculate energy levels based on reading activity
  • Maintain reading history and progress
  • Generate anonymized statistics about app usage
  • Diagnose technical problems
  • Develop new features

5. Data storage and security

All collected data is stored in our secured database, linked only to device IDs (not personal identifiers). All transmission is encrypted. We regularly review our collection, storage, and processing practices. Inactive device data (24+ months) may be deleted. Users can request deletion of their device data at any time.

6. Disclosure of information

We do not sell, rent, or lease user data to any third parties. We may share information with service providers performing services on our behalf (cloud storage, analytics, app development), all bound by confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information to comply with legal requirements.

7. Children's privacy

The Yomi Reading App is designed for children aged 5–9 with parent supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We use only device IDs instead of accounts. All data collection is limited to what is necessary to provide the service.
